Love Your Stilettos, Not the Pain




Who does not love their pair of stilettos? Women have an inclination towards stilettos as they believe that a nice pair of sky high heels will not just augment their looks but also their confidence. The high heel also gives the illusion of longer and slimmer legs and uplifts the height of a woman. 

When it comes to stilettos, we all know that the spindly heels are at least two to three inches tall. Yet, the attractiveness of this kind of shoes makes it an indispensable part of women’s fashion.

Among all the types of heeled shoes, walking with a pair of a stiletto is more difficult due to the thin and pointy heels of stilettos, which puts a lot of pressure on the toes. This is why; wearing stilettos for a long time causes severe pain in the toes and the legs. According to doctors and experts, apart from pain and swelling, stilettos can cause other problems like backache, muscular problems and skeletal problems too. In fact, those who wear stilettos for a long time, are more prone to have arthritis. 

Some Exercises to Follow 

According to doctors and experts, we don’t need to take a break from stilettos if we do some exercise on a regular basis. Towel stretch and wall stretch are the two most effective exercises which we need to practice daily, if we wear stilettos regularly. 

For the Towel stretch exercise:


  • We need to place a rolled towel under the ball of our foot and simultaneously need to hold both the ends of the towel strongly.
  • The next step is pulling the towel towards ourselves. While doing this, we should remember that we cannot move our knees for a single moment.
  • Now we need to stay on this position for at least 15-20 seconds. We should repeat the whole process at least 2-3 times or more.


For the Wall stretch exercise:


  • We need to stand in front of a wall and place both the hands on the surface of the wall.
  • Then we need to place one leg close to the wall and bend the leg from knee so that it touches the wall. But simultaneously we need to keep the heel of the back leg firmly on the floor so that we can feel the stretch in the back calf. We need to hold this position for at least 30 secs.


These exercises will provide relief from pain. But if you are still experiencing pain, then you need to sit on a chair in a straight manner and then need to keep a bottle or rolling pin under our feet. Roll the bottle or rolling pin in a circular motion so that it provides some massage to your feet and fingers, which will help you to get relief from the pain.

Stilettos are very classic and can be worn with any kind of outfits. Though stilettos are known to provide a feminine touch to any outfit, but it is better to avoid wearing stilettos regularly. Wear them for special occasions, so that it not only enhances your beauty but also keeps the pain at bay.
